Tab Workspaces

Changelog

What’s new

Every version of the Tab Workspaces extension and what changed. Chrome installs updates on its own; your version is shown on chrome://extensions.

Version 0.1.0

Coming soon: not in the Chrome Web Store yet

First release.

  • NewWorkspaces in Chrome’s side panel: save any window, with its tabs, tab groups and pinned tabs, under a name. Switch to it in one click or open it in a new window. Alt+Shift+W opens the panel and Alt+Shift+S saves the window you are in.
  • NewWorkspaces save themselves: while one is open, every tab you open, close, move or group is saved to it. Earlier versions are kept, so an accidental change is easy to undo.
  • NewClosing a window or quitting Chrome never empties a workspace. Every few minutes all your open windows are backed up to History, so after a crash you can restore everything or just one window.
  • NewBig workspaces open fast: restored tabs show in the tab strip but load only when you click them. You can turn this off in Settings.
  • NewTemplates with variables: put {{requestId}}, {{customer}} or a time range like “15 minutes before” in your links, type the values once, and every link opens as one named, coloured tab group. Start from scratch or from the window you are in.
  • NewOne search box finds any page in your workspaces, templates and History. Click a result to open it.
  • NewBring your tabs with you: import from OneTab, Session Buddy or Toby, and download a full backup or a bookmarks file any browser can import.
  • NewPrivate by design: no account, no server and no tracking. Your workspaces, templates and backups stay in Chrome on your computer.
